Managing the cost of plain language training

We want to keep the cost of plain language training low as many people as possible can access it, not just those with big budgets.

Here’s some ideas to help you cover the cost of your plain language training:

  1. Ask your boss to pay.
Improving your writing skills will benefit your organisation, as well as benefiting you. The documents you write will be more effective and efficient – valuable organisational assets. So your boss may be willing to pay.
  2. Claim the cost as a tax deduction.
Plain language training may be a legitimate work-related expense. Check with your accountant or tax agent.
  3. Join our cashback program.
If you find the courses on this site helpful, it is likely your colleagues will too. We’ll reward you for sharing our courses with them.
When you have completed a course, you will be invited to apply for a unique cashback coupon code.
Ask your colleagues to use your coupon code when they buy a course from this website. They will get a 5% discount. And we will pay 15% of the course cost to your bank or PayPal account. (Yes, that does mean you can effectively get 20% off any future courses you buy.)

Still can’t afford to buy a course?

If our course charges are genuinely unaffordable for you, please briefly describe your circumstances, and what you can afford to pay, in the contact form. We’ll sort something out for you.

Why this offer? I worked part-time as a financial counsellor for a few years and I know some household budgets are genuinely tight. I don’t want a lack of money getting in the way of learning. Learning to write in plain language will help you become a more valuable employee, and over time, increase your income. That’s a good thing!
