Plain language training – Writing well at work

Writing well at work covers the thinking and practice of writing any document in plain language. It will help you become a better writer.
Plain language writing is far more than just using simple words and short sentences. This course focuses on the clear-headed thinking required to be able to craft content that impacts readers. You’ll learn to write so the readers can find, understand, and use your ideas.
Writing at work is different to other writing – at work we produce ‘functional documents’. These are documents that are designed to have an impact on your readers and propel your organisation to achieve its objectives.
Writing well at work provides a simple 5 stage scaffold to help writers move confidently and quickly through the writing process. The course is consistent with ISO24495-1 Plain language – Part 1: Governing principles and guidelines, but it is not constrained by it.
Each module in the course is also available as a stand alone course.
